Requirements and Skills
- Registered Dietitian (RD) credential
- Experience in inpatient clinical dietetics and patient nutrition assessment
- Strong understanding of medical nutrition therapy and dietary protocols
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and educate patients
- Ability to chart accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach
- Current licensure or eligibility to practice as a Dietitian in Minnesota
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for inpatient populations
- Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans based on medical diagnoses and patient needs
- Monitor patient progress and adjust nutrition interventions as necessary
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care
- Provide education to patients and families about dietary modifications, nutritional therapies, and health maintenance
- Document nutrition care and outcomes accurately within the electronic health record system
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
- Registered Dietitian (RD) certification from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
- Current state licensure or eligibility to become licensed as a Dietitian in Minnesota
- Prior experience in an inpatient hospital setting highly desirable
- Proficient with electronic medical records and nutrition analysis software
Compensation: Hourly rate ranging from $57.00 to $67.00, commensurate with experience.
